Description for Other Makes KR-175 1954

THIS MESSERSCHMITT HAS SOME AMAZING HISTORY TO GO WITH IT .
IT IS A MID PRODUCTION 2A MODEL MESSERSCHMITT KR-175 .
THERE ARE ONLY ABOUT 100 OF THESE CARS KNOWN IN EXISTENCE
FAR FEWER OF THAT NUMBER ARE OPERATIONAL !
THIS CAR STILL WEARS THE ORIGINAL DEALER EMBLEM FROM
FRANKFUR, GERMANY ( I HAVE NOT SEEN ANOTHER ON ANYONE'S CAR )
IT ALSO STILL WEARS A CHROME "D" HOME COUNTRY INSIGNIA FROM WHEN
IT TOURED EUROPE IN THE MID 50's .
THIS NUMBERS MATCHING CAR HAS ONE-PIECE UPHOLSTER,
NARROW REAR SEAT AND IT's ORIGINAL LUGGAGE RACK .
IT WAS MOST LIKELY BROUGHT TO THE USA BY A RETURNING SERVICEMAN
STATIONED IN GERMANY . IT HAS BEEN MISSING IT's DOME SINCE THE EARLY 70's .
IT WAS ORIGINALLY BLAC, REPAINTED YELLO, THEN REPAINTED RED .
THIS CAR IS COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL . IT START, RUN, DRIVES & STOPS .
LIGHT, WIPE, HOR, SIGNAL, SPEEDOMETER & ODOMETER ALL WORK .
THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS UP & DOWN SMOOTHLY THROUGH ALL GEARS .
NEUTRAL SELECTOR & TWIST GRIP THROTTLE HAVE NEW CABLES
AND WORK CRISP & SMOOTHLY . DRIVE CHAIN IS NEW AS WELL .
THE SUSPENSION FRONT & REAR WAS REBUILT WITH NEW PARTS FROM GERMANY .
THERE ARE SOME SPARES TO GO WITH THE CAR INCLUDING A SPARE ENGINE .
IT HAS A CLEAR IOWA TITLE AND A NEAR MINT ORIGINAL OWNER's MANUAL .
( ENGLISH VERSION )
THE SPEEDOMETER IS IN kph . THE ODOMETER SHOWS 25,343 KILOMETERS .
THE LISTING ASKED FOR "MILES" SO I PUT 15,827
RESTORED EXAMPLES OF THIS CAR HAVE SOLD FOR $45,000 - 55,000 & MORE .
THIS IS NOT A RESTORED CAR . IT IS ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES BUT NICE
ENOUGH TO DRIVE AND ENJOY AS IS OR RESTORE .
I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING & RESTORING MICROCARS IN THE RALEIG, NC AREA
FOR OVER 30 YEARS ( I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL ISETTAS & MESSERSCHMITTS ) .
EVERY NOW & THEN I SELL ONE . MONEY FROM THIS SALE
WILL HELP SUPPLEMENT MY WIFE's MEDICAL BILLS .
SHE HAD A HEART TRANSPLANT LAST NOVEMBER .
THE CAR WILL BE ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE AND I RESERVE
THE RIGHT TO
END THE AUCTION EARLY .
