Description for Packard Clipper 1957

You are bidding a on 1957 Packard Clipper sedan. As with all 1957 Packards, it is equipped with Studebaker's 289 cubic inch V8 engine. This engine was originally supercharged, but the supercharger is missing. The title indicates 119, 181 miles and is believed to be accurate. The car runs and is being offered with NO RESERVE.
General:The car received a cosmetic restoration in the 1970s. It sat without running for at least 20 years prior to listing.
Mechanical:The Packard will run with a remote fuel supply fed to directly to the carburetor - we used a gravity feed to bypass the fuel pump. As noted, the supercharger is missing. There is evidence of coolant corrosion around radiator and thermostat housing. Brakes are inoperable. The car is fitted with a power booster, but its status is unknown. Operational status of transmission is unknown. Exhaust system is poor (see pictures). Carburetor pressure box and and other related parts are in in trunk (see pictures). Heater blower and hose is also removed and in trunk. Ignition keys are in poor shape and there is no trunk key. Ignition switch is not believed to be original.
Interior: Seats are in good condition, but foam is crumbling and there is some staining in rear seats (see photos). Headliner shows water stains. Carpet is fair to good (see pictures). Door panels show wear and are dirty. Driver's side front door panel has visible trauma. There is a rust hole on the rear passenger side. (see pictures).
Exterior/Structural: Frame appears solid (see pictures). There is evidence of a LOT of bondo from the beltline down with numerous areas of bubbling below the paint on the fenders, doors and rockers (see pictures). Paint is good in some areas and only fair in others. Chrome is fair to good shape with some pitting in areas, such as the taillight housings. (see pictures). Tires hold air, but need replacement.
