Description for Packard Model 120 C 1940

This is a lovely 1940 Packard 120. A great car for touring or just driving around town, this beauty has been well-maintained.
The 120 was introduced by Packard in the latter part of the Great Depression and marked their first foray into the less expensive 8 cylinder market.
A tall grille with the Packard ridge at the top, a long hood and tasteful bodywork all identify this as a Packard through and through. Steel wheels with hubcaps look great with handsome white sidewall tires.
The brown cloth interior is not original, but is true to the Packard look of 1940. The back seat is truly massive by modern standards and the trunk is gigantic.
Three-on-the-tree shifting is responsive, and the car starts easily and the engine runs well.
Nicely preserved and just right for getting out and driving, this Packard 120 offers all the driving pleasure of the more expensive senior cars at a friendly price.

This car was donated to us (Opera Southwest, a 501c3 charity) recently. The previous owner put about $11k into the mechanical and electrical systems of the car in 2015/16 so it runs pretty well. PDF copies of the receipts for the work are available at (copy and paste into browser):

Some information from the donor/responses to questions:

1- Dash lights do not work/require service.2- Fog lights are not connected.3- The vehicle has an oversized gas tank which makes the fuel gauge somewhat inaccurate.4- Dash temperature gauge is not reliable, the temperature gauge under the dash is working and accurate.5- The clock is disconnected.6- Turn signals are an add-on; they work.7- Driver side door lock (exterior) needs service.8- The tires currently on the vehicle are "Tube Tires" with an inner tube.
