Description for Plymouth Fury 1970
1970 Plymouth Fury III sedan. 318 v8, auto. Runs and drives excellent for a 46 year old car. This car spent most of it's life in hibernation. From what I was told this Fury was owned by a collector and stored in a barn since it was a few years old until the barn started to deteriorate and at that point he sold everything inside and the barn was demolished. The odometer shows 25,680 miles and based on the condition of the car, the previous owner, and the story behind it I have every reason to believe it is accurate. I purchased the car from the second owner's estate. He began to go over the car to get her back on the road after storage. Windshield was replaced, calipers were replaced, brakes were gone over and repaired, and the fuel tank was cleaned out from what I was told. The car is currently running off a funnel to be safe in case anything is in the tank since it was never hooked up after it was cleaned. Starts right up, no smoke, no funny noises. I drove it on and off the trailer and a little bit around the yard and everything seems tight. Tires are old and dryrotted but hold air, I would replace them. The body and paint are about a 7 out of 10, needs some minor touch up here and there but the paint shines nice and I haven't even washed it yet! Theres a few spots of surface rust on the rockers from stones hitting them over the years, the trunk area will need some touch up since the paint started to peel (see the picture for details, It is extremely light surface rust. I believe when it was in storage something was sitting on top of the car here) There is one small hole on the driver's rear quarter by the bumper, this is the only hole on the car. The inside of the hood has some rust as well. Please see the pics for more details. Trunk has some surface rust from the car being outside and exposed to the elements with old weatherstripping like any old car trunk does. Underside is solid. Interior will need a vaccum and a wipe down on the seats and door panels but I would rate it a 9.5 out of 10. No tears or damage to anything and everything almost looks new.Definitelythe nicest interior on a barn find car I've ever seen! This car needs very little work to put it on the road again and you could probably drive it after a weekend in the garage. If I didn't have a bunch of other projects and had limitless inside space I'd keep it, but I'd hate to see the car sit outside. It doesn't look right sitting in a sea of GM products either :) Clean PA title in my name. Cash payment and pickup due within 7 days of the auction's end unless arrangements are made prior to bidding. $500 non refundable deposit due via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction's end. Very reasonable reserve, if the car doesn't sell it's going to be one of my winter projects and on the market again in spring with a higher price tag. Bid now, bid often, and happy bidding!
