Description for Pontiac GTO 1967
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS WELCOME! PLEASE CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS at 76O 8O5 8038. This is a very original 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible. It is a real 242 VIN GTO, not a clone. It is difficult enough to find a GTO ragtop. To find a nearly untouched original survivor is a nearly impossible task, especially one that isn't priced like a house. The car was special ordered by the grandfather of the family that I got it from, as he owned a Pontiac dealership back in 67. I have a ton of paperwork on the history of the car. It is a matching number YS code 400 c.i. 335 HP V-8, automatic, with factory air conditioning. Other options include His/Hers shifter, power steering, power brakes, and power top. It has an excellent body. The car is very straight and rust free. It has had one re-paint in the original color. The paint is older and does have paint chips. I would not re-paint it, simply because it is currently one of the finest driving examples that you will find and you can drive it anywhere without worry. It is kind of a Catch 22 though, since if any car every deserved a high end re-spray, it would be this car. It is probably the best driving GTO you will find. It is smooth, fast, fun, and can be driven anywhere. The black bucket seat interior is in excellent original condition. The dashpad is very nice. There is a small crack in the very lower part on the passenger side where your knee would hit. I have no idea how it could have happened unless somebody was loading something into the car. Regardless, it is not a big issue, but I want to be honest and upfront about everything so all parties are happy with the deal. The Rally IIs were painted body color. It was done by the grandfather a long time ago. I did not want to replace them since I am sure they are probably the original rims that came on the car so somebody else can make the decision to restore them correctly or leave them like they are. They are only original once and I would always choose an original car over a restored one. It still has the original black power top which is still in remarkably good condition. The floorboards, frame, and trunk are all very solid. You will love driving this Goat. I already have a 1965 Corvette Roadster, a 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda, a 1960 Bel Air, a 65 Riviera with an LS motor, and this GTO. I would like to sell a couple of them. I am located in Cardiff, California near San Diego. HAVE SOME FUN AT THE CAR SHOWS THIS SUMMER!! Thank you for all of the interest in the GTO. I have the Protect-o-Plate for the car. It is most definitely a real GTO and most definitely a matching number 400 engine that the car was born with. Thanks!
