1981 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo for sale in immaculate original condition.
TheTrans AmTurbo is the first turbo charged V8 production car, manufactured for only2 years between 1980-1981 in limited numbers.
Built in Van Nuys California.The 301cui engine(4.9 liter) V8 enginecomes equippedwithcarburetorand single blow through turbo.Every option was opted,shown on build sheet and window sticker.Some of the options:RTS(radial tuned suspension),4 wheel disc brakes with optioned aluminum fan wheels, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power antenna, special handling package, special performance package, limited slip differential, removable glass T-Tops, and Turbo Spooling gauge on the hood.
Sold new for $12,0111.23 in 1981,and owned by the same family till the late 2000's when it was sold to a collector.This car has always been garage kept and dealer serviced.All records since new.
Paint is original,and has been verified with a paint meter.See attached photos of the paint meter readings.The body is straight,no dings or damage.Original decals look great.Solid floors and rockers,no rust or cancer anywhere on the car.
The interior remains completely original and in really, really nice shape. The headliner, dash, seats, carpet arelike new. Original T-top covers stored in the trunk.The only modificationsarethe aftermarket radio and speakers.
The car runs and drives really nice.Suspension feels tight,no rattling or other weird noises.
The Turbo has been rebuilt in 2009 at 89K miles.Other work that has been done recently are:-new shocks all around-new period correct tires-new drop links-new belts-new clutch fan-tune up-new battery-new power steering pump and power steering lines
The car comes with a spare, jack, window sticker, build sheet and every receipt since new. Receipts add up to $ 22,923.86,not including the purchase price of the vehicle.
Overall this Trans Am Turbo is a very nice unmolested true survivor that not only looks great but runs and drives amazing too.
