Description for Pontiac Catalina 1969
A very nice 69 2 dr Catalina. With only 53K miles !
I was working on this for a retired member of the armed forces. Unfortunately has chosen to sell rather than complete.
He asked me to list it for him (his job has him out of the country now).
The body is very nice, no rust ! The is some in the lowerdriver sidecorner of the backlight (rear window)channel, someone chalked it over so I cant say how bad it its, but was told its not big. There is also a scrape on the Passenger Side lower door from loading on a car trailer and one on the Driver Side. Some body minor dings from it's almost 50 years. None are major. Last year a wind gust caught the hood while the car was being moved. The safety catch didn't hold and a hinge spring broke. The back corner on the hood was bent . Please see pictures. Hinges have been replaced with a nice set off a low mileage car, but the hood will need some work.
Chrome is good and trim is nice & all trim is with car. Trim for these cars in this good a condition is hard to find.Trunk & floors are solid, no rustholes or bad spots. The old vinyl top was removed. There's is a dent in the top of the car that was under the vinyl. It has gooddual exhaust, brakes and shocks, all installed since it was last on the road.4New BF Goodrich tires and 2 Rally II wheels go with the car. I am currently looking for two more to complete the set.
The interior had been partly disassembled to do repairs. It is all there and in the car, just not all screws are there. Seats are serviceable. Front seat has splits on both sides and back seat needs a good cleaning. Head liner is very nice. Dash in also very good. All lights work, including the factory under hood and trunk light.
Has the factory installed original 400 cube 2 barrel carb Pontiac engine. It starts, idles andruns great. TH400 trans shifts smoothly. Some trim had been removed before work was stopped, (car was going tofor body work / paint)butI believeall is with the car.
The plain was to upgrade the car to a hi option HO clone. Many original parts from HOparts cars go withit.
Including with car but not yet installed;
Aauxiliary gage speedometer( has amp, oil pressure, water temp and fuel gage in place of idiot lights).
AM FM radio ( conditio, was working ).
Odd hard to find rear window defogger assembly.
Tilt Steering. ( original to this car).
Under hood lamp.
Trunk light.
Hard to find rear sway bar.
HO5 blade fan.
Power seat tracks to convert from manual seats, With the servo drives and controls.
The seat trim for power seatsto complete the conversion .
Wiring harness's needed to use these options.
Original fender skirts.
PC code TH400 trans. Not in car. ( used with optional 428 cars) .
Most of these are rare and hard to find items, all go with the car and are not for sale separately.
Other pictures are available, contact with email address and I will send any requested.
NOT included with car but available, is a rebuilt, balanced 428 motor, includes HO/Ram Airheads (#62) intake, hydraulic CompCam, Icon forged pistons.... never installed or started that can go with the car for and additional $2500
Buyer is responsible for all cost inloading and shipping of the car. Buyer to make all arrangements for pickup and shipment.
I will deliver the car and all parts that go with it, (not including the 428 motor) up to 150 from Frederick Maryland (21701) for a$400 cash payment.
