Description for Pontiac Fiero 1984
Description: I didn't set out to write a ten thousand dollar description for a one thousand dollar car, but I guess it turned out that way. Oh well, it is Christmas.
This is a nice solid southern Fiero that needs someone to blow life into it. Car has been garaged in clean dry environment for years, but has a cracked windshield, and multiple mechanical issues. On the bright side, it is an original A/C 4-speed car that has the desirable tan interior, fairly low miles, and a perfect title with no history problems.
Condition: Original owner was readying the car for a V-8 conversion/brake upgrade when he was killed in a deep sea diving accident on his 30th wedding anniversary. The car’s 4 cylinder engine is still present and intact, but the exhaust has been removed, and all rear hoses, linkages, brake lines and wiring harnesses are disconnected. Before these pictures were taken, the car had been sitting indoors in that state, up on jack stands since 2006. The engine still turns freely, and the oil is clean and free of anti-freeze, but I have no knowledge of its condition.
Items included: There is a brand new starter and clutch slave cylinder included with the car, as well as the removed exhaust pipe, and an extra OEM radio and rear wiring harness.
Sales Pitch: There is no question you could buy a running, driving Fiero for less money than it will cost to put this one back on the road. However, most $1,500 Fieros are well worn cars, and are probably close to needing the same things you’ll likely replace on this car while it's on the operating table. I also doubt you'll find a more solid rust-free Fiero in the lower price range, or one that has a cleaner title than this one. Most project Fieros out there are rust buckets, or have trees growing through them.
My own story: I have a passion to see significant things preserved. In a lifetime of rescuing landmark buildings and special automobiles, several newspapers have chronicled my work, and there have been many awards. Unfortunately I have a personal issue that prevents me from doing any more projects for the foreseeable future, so I need help with this Fiero.
Final Comment: Most people who’ve owned Fieros agree they’re the most under-appreciated innovative cars of our time. Even these economical 2M4's are beautiful to look at, and exhilarating to drive. The fact that so many are still on the road is proof they’ve endured the test of time with style AND durability. Best of all, Fiero owners comprise one of the greatest communities of car enthusiasts on the planet (if you don’t believe me, just Google "Tyler Shipman’s Fiero" or “Tyler’s Toy - Dream team Fiero” on Youtube). Fiero clubs are found in every region of the country, and an abundance of tech advice is available through a network of high quality internet forums. OEM, used, and after-market parts are also readily available, and the interchange possibilities between Fiero components and many other GM cars assures it will stay that way.
Location: Car is located near I-80 & I-94, where Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois join hands.
Please help me save this car. And if there’s anything I can do to help, just ask. I can even store it inside for you for the winter free of charge.
