Description for Porsche 914 1972
1972 Porsche 914 Street or Track Car. The Engine has Been Built Up from an EC Block to 2056cc. It has 96mm Big Bore Pistons and a 71mm Crank or a Bore and Stroke of 96x71. The Heads were Rebuilt Using Sodium Filled Exhaust Valves with New Guides. The 71mm Crank is .010 Under with Polished Journals and was Plasti Gauged to Minimum Tolerance, with All Dynamically Balanced. It has Dual Weber 40 Downdraft Carburetors as Shown in Pictures. The Engine was Built at Euro 911 in California. I have Only put about 500 Miles on the Engine, So it is Still in Break in Period. A proper Break in Period is Approximately 1000 Miles so it Will Need Careful Use for Several Hundred More Miles, and May Need adjustments in that Time. This Car has Been Upgraded to 5 Lug Hubs and Correct 15" X 8" Fuchs Wheels are Installed along with 911 Suspension Components. I added a Picture of one of the Wheels and it Clearly Shows that the Center Caps are Metal and the Rough or Gritty Surface in the Black area between the Spokes, which are Both Indications that these are Fuchs Wheels. 2 other Pictures Show the Replaced Longitudinals on Each Side and there is a Picture of the Battery Tray Area showing how Correct and Rust Free it is. It also has an Autopower Roll Bar Installed which Helps Stiffen the car and is Necessary for Track days. This 914 has Been Lightened as the Factory would do to Race Cars, there is No Carpet in the Interior or Either Trunk, Only Coco Mats, And All 4 Quarter Panels, the Bumper Covers and Rocker Covers are Fiberglass. There is No Heat or AC in this Car and the Passenger Seat Only Slides Back as Far as in Pictures Because of the Roll Bar. So it is an Enthusiasts Car. Shipping is the Buyers Responsibility, but I Will Make Sure the Car is Loaded Safely. I work on a Computer not a phone, so please Send any Messages through the listing. There is No Warranty on a Fifty Year Old Car, but these are Finally Getting Some Porsche Value, A Very Stock 1973 in Silver Sold Recently (May 2022) at Mecum Indy for $60,000. Asking $49,500 Or Best Offer.
