Description for Porsche 914 1971
Up for grabs is a 1971 Porsche 914-4. Lets call it a barn find. I actually purchased this car about 7 years ago and placed it in my barn which is where it has set for the last 7 years. I paid 8000. 00 dollars for this car and had put it up for my young son to have when he graduated high school. As fate and kids would have it he decided he wanted a Jeep. So he now has a Rubicon and I am left with a 914 that is in need of restoration after spending 7 years in a barn. A little history on the car. I purchased it from a man in Ogden Utah. He was the second owner and purchased the car in 1988. The car had 10. 03 miles. He had owned the car for 19 years when I purchased it from him. He had made it a show car and trailered it to different events to promote his business. He restored and customized cars. The car had an 80's period correct sunroof and ZZ top styled paint job that he had over 5000. 00 dollars at the time and was signed by a local show car painter. Never my taste but was going to have the car repainted black because it was my sons' favorite color. It has a custom slant nose conversion and a rear deck lid spoiler he had customized for the car. Has custom seats and one of a kind leather door panels and a custom chrome roll cage that he designed himself. Has tons of details and really neat appointments. Fast forward. After sitting in the barn for 7 years it has a dent in the passenger door. a smaller on the drivers' side and a variety of rust in different areas. Seats are still nice and the car ran like a pocket rocket when it was put away. Have not tried to start it since. Engine condition is unknown but complete. Like I said I drove it to the barn and stored it. Really nice wheels. The roof of the barn leaked in one area on the drivers' side fender top and created rust on the fender. (See Picture) It needs someone with the time and ability to bring it back to its original glory. The engine is either a 1. 7 or 1. 8. I really don't remember. Also when bringing it to my home I pulled the front spoiler loose unloading it from the trailer. Study the pictures well because this is the car you are buying. I still have the original title that I received when I bought the car. It shows 10. 03 miles. The odometer is now at 74k. I have decided to be fair to all who are interested and start the car at 1000. 00 dollars and let the collectors of 914's on ebay determined its value. Bid Often and with Confidence. Thank you. Good luck!
