Description for Shelby COBRA 427 SC 1966
This is a VERY HIGH DOLLAR car, ith no expense spared, his Cobra is basically new with just over 600 miles and it is amazing!!! This is not your cheap kit car made with replica parts.
First of all the car is titled as a 1966 Shelby not as a later model replica, ery important to know that.
The body by Classic Roadsters is extremely nice, hick with perfect door / hood / trunk and fender well gaps. The body is 6"longer than stock allowing for a larger person to sit comfortably and 4"wider in the rear to keep the massive tires under the fenders. The frame is powder coated square tubing, ear suspension includes Winters rearend with posi-traction, link adjustable linkage, djustable NASCAR style springs, ront suspension is an independent race version of the Mustang II design. Wilwood "Hat"type disc brakes on all 4 corners with a dual stage master cylinder and power brake booster. Massive 295/50R 15 tires in the rear and 236/50R 15 in the front. The complete car is wired in color coded wiring wrapped in heat resistant nylon jacketing throughout the complete car, ery high dollar.
The engine is a VERY well built 351 with aluminum heads, ntake, nd Holly carburetor. MSD ignition and ceramic coated exhaust system mounted in high intensity urethane grommets helps eliminate any vibration, he steer wheel remains perfectly calm when the car is at an idle even though the exhaust sounds like the bully on the block. Behind the engine is a close ratio new 5 speed Tremec transmission with an overdrive of .64 to 1 giving it excellent highway cruising of 70 mph at 2,000 rpm even though the rear end houses 4.10 gears. This car gets to 100 mph in a blink of an eye but yet is very driveable on the street. The cooling system includes a heavy duty aluminum radiator with both thermostat and manually controlled electric fan with shroud, his car does not over heat.
The interior is made up of carpet throughout including a finished trunk, eather seats, hrome tilt steering column, url wood style dash with Autometer gauges. Simpson racing belts are provided for both the driver and passenger and a chrome single roll bar that is easily removable finished off in stainless trim provide that racing look. The doors are opened via electric solenoids for easy in and out and the stereo is of very high quality and can easily be clearly heard while driving down the highway. The paint is a two stage system, acing yellow with white rally stripes, his car is a definite eye catcher both visually and by the sound.
I have had and seen many Cobra replicas over the years, his is by far the best one that I have ever owned or seen for that matter. There has been absolutely no money spared on the construction of this amazing car, can honestly say that it does exhibit the historic Cobra of days gone by with the absolute aggressive look and sound, ut it is without question so much easier to drive. I am 6'5"and fit comfortably with plenty of leg room. I do not fit in an original Cobra or other replicas.
Either cruising down the road or on the track this car is impressive. When you own this car be prepared for 15 minutes of question answering and photo taking by curious on lookers when you stop. This car is a flying bullet, verything about this car WILL exceed your expectations!
