Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1978
Hello you guys,,,,,,,,,,,I am selling my 1978 FJ55 Land Cruiser. VIN NUMBER: FJ5591382 / CLEAR TITLE from Arizona / EXTREMELY RARE Cruiser, only a handful ever made their way into the United States, most beat to hell. ORIGINAL PAINT, NEVER PAINTED SINCE FACTORY. Mine is 100% all ORIGINAL and in wonderful mechanical condition. Original Owner in Arizona. Cruiser comes with ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE, ORIGINAL TOOL KIT, ORIGINAL JACK AND JACK COMPONANTS / 2F Original Engine has only 78,500 miles on it, confirmed by the original owner / Engine Compression near perfect and has never been rebuilt. Compression is 150-149-149-145-150-155 psi. Please note: Factory New Compression on this engine is approx. 155-160 psi. I have owned numerous FJ55 cruisers over the years and only one other was as original as this one. For someone looking for a Daily Driver, A Rolling Resto Project or Weekend Off Road-Camping Cruiser then you might want to consider this one. Because of its extremely rare original condition, the cruiser will continue to go up in value every year. This one, in our opinion, could be entered into Car Shows in the complete original category. Below you will see a VIDEO that I did. It is short and to the point but lets you see start up, idle, driving. Hopefully it will be helpful. The Engine Runs Perfect. Transmission and 4 Wheel Drive shift easily, Clutch in good working order, Brakes in good working order, ALL LIGHTS WORK with no electrical issues / All BADGES and MIRRORS are complete original. All interior DOOR PANELS are there. / VALVE ADJUSTMENT just done two weeks ago ( approx. July 12th ), ALL FLUIDS HAVE BEEN JUST CHANGED OUT including: OIL, OIL FILTER, FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIALS, TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE, COOLANT / ENGINE COMPRESSION just done two weeks ago as well. / Both FRONT and BACK SEATS are 100% original, never changed out and both come with original upholstery. / Floor Vinyl also original to the cruiser and as you may know, extremely difficult to find if ever removed. / The stock STEEL FACTORY WHEELS and CAPS are on the Cruiser. There is only SURFACE rust on the UNDERCARRIAGE of the cruiser, much of the undercarriage shows the red color of Arizona soil. / The winning bidder will receive the ORIGINALBill of Sale ( one of them I placed in the picture section, there are two ) and all receipts that were available from the original owner and myself. Cruiser starts right up, does not smoke, does not leak and in our opinion, could drive easily and without issue to Alaska tomorrow. If you win this cruiser and want to restore parts of the cruiser that will take it back to perfect condition then you will have to do the following: Headliner, Front Seat, Dash Pad, Back Cargo Window Motor or Window Gear ( New Gear can be had from SOR.COM ) / Cancer Rust Spots on both Driver and Passenger outside doors as seen in the pictures attached. / A few other spots below back side of doors at the base also. Nothing major that can't be restored. PLEASE NOTE: THESE AREAS MENTIONED ABOVE WILL NEED ATTENTION IF YOU WANT TO TAKE THE CRUISER BACK TO RESTORED CONDITION. My suggestion regarding Headliner? Since the front area is not in good shape I would cut out the whole entire headliner and replace it at some point in the future. The cruiser, without any headliner, looks better then a beat up headliner. Just my opinion. / The FRAME and UNDERCARRIAGE are rock solid. / All original 2F engine components are there and intact / The Cruiser Idles perfect, does not smoke and has plenty of power and torque ( in our opinion, like new since compression is so good and Carb just restored last year ). / Any Questions? Lemmie know. Glad to send addition pictures, just send me a note. In my opinion, after owning over 40 Land Cruisers since 1974 in my collection, I think anyone looking for a complete, and I mean complete ORIGINAL ( original paint, never painted since factory ) with the original Bill of Sale and paperwork will find this one will meet all expectations. They just do not get anymore original then this. That makes them valuable and if left in original condition, will continue to go up in value. Also, anyone looking for a perfect candidate for a full restoration may want to consider this one. I deliberately did NOT change a thing on it. If you want me and my crew to restore anything after you buy it then we will be more than willing to work out a price with you for that additional restore work. I can't give the Cruiser away but based on the rarity and condition of it, feel I have priced it fairly. Thanks. MORE DETAILED PICTURES? JUST LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE. WILL SEND THEM. If winning bidder needs a reliable shipper? I have one. Used him to transport many from my collection over the years. Reasonable price and reliable. IMPORTANT NOTE TO CALIFORNIA BIDDERS: The Cruiser came in from Arizona. I am in CALIFORNIA. I have not SMOGGED IT. California, as you know, requires smog on any vehicle new then 1975. I suggest California Residents NOT bid on the CRUISER unless your willing to get it smogged yourself. I did NOT want to interfere with any of the original components on this engine. This is the way the engine came from Factory. I will be leaving it this way.The original manuals come with the cruiser. Thanks.
