Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1992

My purchase background: I have owned the truck for a year. I bought it as a small project to do a light build on and just enjoy. I have been doing that for the year. The PO was in Chicago and did not drive it in the winter. Since I have owned it it has been living in my shop. It is a super truck. It’s very clean and everything works.

Reason for selling: I have lost interest in this project. I own a construction company and I have trucks everywhere. I don’t get to drive this truck very much. I don’t have time to do much with it. I have another 1992 thats fully built that I like to travel in. In addition I have my personal vehicles and I just purchased a 2000 LC for my son. I’m overwhelmed with vehicles so I have decided to sell this one.

264*** miles on the clock

3FE Engine with compression about 140 in all cylinders

Converted to 4speed H42 Transmission

I put a working H42 in the truck after my purchase (the old tranny had no 4th gear).

It has a new aluminum radiator.

It has a new master cylinder.

It has nearly new BFG Tires.

It has a working part time kit installed.

IT HAS ZERO RUST. This truck was a western truck until two or so years ago. It was driven one time in the snow during my ownership between a trailer and the shop. The PO did not drive it in the winter. The part time kit allowed me to enjoy a couple of donuts in the snow.

A few cool (good) things about the truck:

  • The original exhaust cooling fan that would run after you shut the engine off still works it I believe intermittently.
  • The auto door locking system still works.
  • The windows are pretty strong up and down.
  • The interior is almost impeccable. It is in excellent condition.
  • The manual tranny behind a 3fe is absolutely a blast to drive. It is the most modern engine in the F series line up that lasted for over 45 years. It is just a complete blast to drive.
  • The part time kit is cool.
  • It is a looker. It’s a very clean example of the truck. It has its faults (as mentioned below) but over all is the nicest looking and working cruiser I have come across in a while.
  • The air works and does pretty good.
  • It has a nice Blue Sea volt gauge and USB charging port.
  • There are no dashboard cracks.
  • Extra goodies include some cans of R12. I have many 3fe parts in my shop that you are welcome to pick through.

  • A few not so cool things about the truck:

  • It has been repainted. The original color was white and it was repainted white. It has some clear coat peeling on the drivers side rear panel.
  • The truck was wrecked on the front end. No major damage or frame damage took place. The bumper has been replaced with a JDM style front bumper. It does have a salvage title.
  • One of the owners before the PO removed the flares and did a lousy job of filling the holes. I’m a not much of a body man but I had planned to sand them down and fill them properly and possibly rhino line the sides to cover those areas up or have the truck re-painted. I never got far enough to make a decision. There is no corrosion near any of the holes that I can see
  • The sunroof leaks. But it does work so I’m sure the drains just need to be reamed out. I didn’t worry about it much because in the 300 miles Ive driven this year it was just to go take a spin on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
  • The speakers are pretty well shot but original.
  • It has a rear seal leak. It’s minimal. I don’t have any concerns about it. It doesn’t use any oil so I leave it alone.
  • It needs a set of shocks. I can put them on if needed as part of the sale.If someone buys this with intent to build it the shocks wont matter.
  • The front turn signal valence is off of a 1993+ land cruiser so it does leave a bit of a gap between it and the grill. It’s not a terrible thing but

  • This truck is truly a blast to drive. If I owned a lake house this truck would be perfect for it. Puttering around a vacation area in the mountains or on the coast would be perfect for it. It’s a very special truck. It has a great mojo to it. I smile every time i drive it. I just have to many “things” right now. I’d rather someone else take it and enjoy it.

Shipping will be on the buyers end of the deal. I will make sure the truck is loaded up on a truck of a shipper contracted by the buyer. I can deliver within a reasonable distance of Indianapolis for additional cost. $750 deposit by PayPal will be required within 3 days of the auction completion and the remaining amount can be paid by PayPal or Cashiers check. I do have the title in hand.
