Description for Toyota Land Cruiser 1972
There are countless FJ40 vehicles on the market, and most are in the 25 - 40k range with no real idea of how much body work is hidden underneath. I found this vehicle a few years ago from a custom shop who had too many projects and paid about what I'm now asking. I have some extras for this that are included if sold with buy it now option. Those extras include new front grill, heavy duty tie rod ends, heavy duty tie rod, center arm, window felts, and some other extras. The value in this FJ 40 isn't a flashy gloss paint job which I can easily do at a local shop. The value is the original paint and metal which displays the solid metal of this vehicle with no major through rust. From the photos you can see there is minimal surface rust. The frame is solid metal, the doors, fenders, areas around step ins, floor pans, truck area, are all solid metal with no real major surface rust. The frame is straight, and the body and frame will take little work to make this a high end vehicle.
If you are a collector, the original paint could be a plus, but I didn't want to paint in order to show how there was no masking the quality of the metal. The hood has a few dents, the fender a few minor dings, and overall this vehicle is in great shape for its age.
I honestly am sorry to sell, but realize I am too busy to take the time to drive and use this. The vehicle starts and runs. I drove around the corner today to take photos. It gets around, but has manual steering. I did replace the clutch master cycling last year and the clutch and trans seems to work fine. The engine needs to warm up in the winter to run smooth, and may need a tune up over time, but starts, runs, and drives when i need it too. I can send a video of engine running and car driving if requested.
Good luck bidding. I am also listing this vehicle on other channels and classic car sites so reserve the right to sell outside ebay with the right price, however i'm setting the buy it now to equal the same for sale price. Good luck bidding.
