Description for Triumph Other 1947
RED CAR NOT INCLUDED, and is shown to show how they can look. This is a friends car and wins so many trophy's he had to reinforce his trophy shelf.Mileage is unknown but eBay requires one so I guessed? The title dated in 1978 says 41,174 so I entered that number.
The body is aluminum except the bonnet (Hood to us)
All of the wooden parts I can see are in good shape.
These are the last production car made with rumble seat.
I purchased 4 of these about 10 years ago and put all of the best parts on this one and sold the other three. That is the reason for the different colors. The primed main body was ready for painting by previous owner but now it has a dent in the left rear fender Last year the other 3 still with same owner were sold to Florida and parts from them are available. Left front suspension needs some TLC. Not sure why but wheel leans in at the top.
Feel free to ask questions. There is a club for these cars in England and they have parts for sale and various vendors selling through the club. Approximately 50 members in USA sharing information and parts.
My price may look too high but when you read how many parts I am including you will see why.
Price I paid
Headlights $1,000
Gauges $1,000
Horns $200
Wiring harness $400
Trafficaters (Turn signals) $300
Rear window for convertible top $200
Rear bumper new chrome $400

Crank guide and Misc Misc $1500
Total approximately $5,000
Several boxes of parts accumulated throughout the years, some new and some serviceable used! Almost everything you would need to restore the car less engine and transmission. Authentic engines and transmissions are available but most restorations include modernizing to TR 4 A engines. I have heard of these with Ford Flatheads, and many other engine and transmission combinations. I chose the Tr-4A and Toyota 5 speed to keep the weight similar to original designed weight! These are quite slow with their original engines. My friend used TR 4A engine and correct overdrive and I planned on using TR4A with Toyota 5 speed (5th gear is equivalent to overdrive)
Authentic parts are easy to find on eBay in USA and England but I have purchased everything I could think of so not much more to buy.
NOT INCLUDED but available at separate prices. If car sells without engine I will sell them separately after I sell the car.
TR-4A engine rebuilt by Brookllands British Car of Tacoma Washington. $3500
Toyota to triumph transmission adapter kit $1500
Toyota 5 speed transmission included with Kit No charge
$5000 total if sold with car
