Description for Triumph TR-6 1973

A beautiful Triumph TR6.....went over the body with a refrigerator magnet, no sign of plastic filler anywhere. New paint (even in the trunk and door jambs), excellent floors...no sign or repair, patching, undercoating, super clean. And a new convertible top.
Engine starts instantly, runs flawlessly, no smoke, 80-90 psi oil pressure (as when new), transmission works well, overdrive clicks 'in' and 'out' quickly with no slippage, front end is tight, power disc brakes work well, and car accelerates quickly,.
Last owner installed the most expensive tires for this car...(and still like new) Michelin redlines, made specifically for a TR6. Wood dash is very nice, all of the gauges and electrics work properly, exhaust has a nice throaty sound, no rear end clunks (an important consideration for a TR6 with IRS and lots of universals), new alloy rocker cover, brakes rebuilt and a new master cylinder fitted.
Of course, the overdrive (essentially a fifth gear) makes for a quieter engine at highway speeds and better fuel economy. AND...............
IF wanted, can improve this car even further.....paint and detail the engine bay, for a more aggressive look, add eight spoke Minilite style alloy wheels OR for a more classic look. convert to wire wheels. Both easy to do.
AND....also easy to dye the interior in tan (any shade)......would be hard to top this TR6 with all, some, or none of these additions. But all easily done and the car can be 'personalized' to a new owner's tastes.
Can even add a powerful supplemental heater OR a modern air conditioning system for either very cold or tropical weather conditions. All of which really makes this car a reasonable alternative to a contemporary sports car. However, with real classic style.Especially with the wire wheel option.
Most TR6s are tired old rusty forty five year old cars with tons of bondo in the body, undercoating underneath to hide rust and damage, patched and in need of a complete restoration. This car, in comparison, is near pristine, well kept, thoroughly serviced, and with the most expensive single option, overdrive...and in perfect working condition. A gem of a sports car, ready for Spring 2019 use, and really in need of nothing.
I have tried my best to properly represent this car, detailed photos showing perfect floors, excellent reflections in the paint, even a shot of the oil pressure gauge showing factory 'new' oil pressure. It hasn't had a lot of use, around 1,750 miles a year, and it is obvious the last owner lavished only the best on it as indicated by it having THE best set of tires.
There is a reserve, the car is available for immediate sale, and it is not a case of being 'given away for nothing.' But a potential buyer has the opportunity to acquire a really good example of this wonderful collector's sports car. I can store the car until a buyer is ready for delivery, assist in transport anywhere, can add any conceivable options one might want, and really detail it for the next owner. My terms are 20% deposit within 48 hours of sale and full payment by check or wire transfer within 7 days.
