Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1984

1984 VW Vanagon Westphalia 115,000 miles

So I have owned this Vanagon for a few years and bought it with the intent of tuning it up and making it a reliable camper van for me and my family. The only problem is we are so busy we never seem to have the time to use it, nd I am sick of just seeing it sit unused, egistered and insured, n my driveway. It seems I have too many toys that this is happening to these days. So up for sale it goes. It was a running vehicle when I got it, ut needed some TLC. Here is the list of things that I have done to it in the Past 2 years:

ØNew Fuel tank and fuel pump

ØFuel filter upgrade kit from GoWesty, eplaced some fuel lines as well

ØNew two Piece stainless steel coolant lines

ØNew brakes - replaced master cylinder, rebuilt front calipers, ew rotors, replaced rear wheel cylinders, ew drums, ew shoes and pads, eplaced hard lines that were looking shabby

ØRemoved stock clock and replaced with Tachometer from a 1985 vanagon

ØNew clutch and pressure plate, lushed transmission and refilled with synthetic fluid

ØNew Tires

ØNew Downpipes for exhaust

ØInstalled front seats out of an 85 Vanagon. More comfortabl, full swivel, ith the armrests

ØFull tune up- cap, rotor, plugs, ir filter, tc..

ØInstalled Thule roof rack.

ØReplaced sun roof/ vent top and seal

ØDeleted fridge and made shelving. (never thought I would use the fridge as a cooler seems to work better, o I pulled it out and made shelves- I still have the fridge, nd it may work)

ØAdded some LED interior lighting

ØDisconnected propane bottle under van and retrofitted stove to work on camp stove bottles. (with no fridge this seemed like a more practical solution to the aging under-van gas bottle. Everything is still there to switch it back if you wanted, ut would recommend getting a new tank under vehicle as it looks like it needs an upgrade) current setup works great and is much more convenient.

ØStove, ink, nd water pump all in good working condition.

Somewhere around 60,000 miles it received a new Canadian motor. It runs great! It's a great little van and I will probably kick myself for selling it, I know my kids will kick me). But with the aging vehicles in my fleet, need a better daily driver, nd this is not it. The big bonus on this vanagon is That It comes with a ton of extra parts. Valuable spare parts. I had a 1985 vanagon as a donor vehicle, nd before it went to scrap I got everything I could off of it.

ØSpare parts include all replacement glass in really good shape, pare ECU, oses and lines, ridge, pare snow tires on rims (look brand new), pare motor complete (I think one head gasket is bad and it has sat for years), eadlights, taillights, hatch cover, prings and shocks, nd much much more....

-The underbody of this van is in great shape! There are a few spots of rust (mostly very small stuff in pinch seams of body panels) and a little in the step ups inside front doors. It is not rust free, ut it is very minor considering its age. It has been garaged every winter since I have had it. We want it to go to a good home! Come take a look!
