Several years ago I bought a VW with the hopes of fixing it up and making it look new. That never happened but I did spend several years driving a VW to work and around town, ntil the engine caught fire. One of the gas tubes split and caught fire. it was contained but theinsurancecompany totaled the car. I have theenginefixed with the money but now the it has a salvaged title. I then took it to a body shop to informed me that theundercarriagehad to much damage and would cost more than the car was worth to fix. At that time I put the car in storage to decide what to do. Now the car has sat for over a year and I have decided it is time to let someone else love this car as much as I have. The engine worked when it was put into storage. I was told that the under body was rusting beyond repair. The upper body has rust but I think there should be some usable areas. And most of the glass is original and looks good for its age. The trim is old brittle and cracking and needs to be replaced. Theinteriorneeds to be replaced or extensive repairs. This would be a great part car or for the more advanced person a major fixer-upper.
