Description for Volkswagen Beetle - Classic 1964
This is a great opportunity to own a very rare 100% original RUST FREE example of a down the the engine original California 1964 Volkswagen Beetle. The Original numbers matching 40hp engine fires right up and runs very quietand all electrics have been converted to 12 volt. The tires are Bias ply likely Circa 1970s, old air and have lots of tread left. The pans look great with absolutely no rust anywhere, ot even in the regular areas such as the door jams or parcel tray. The paint is original and with some very minor paint work to areas where some light body filler was applied years ago, n extremely nice patina could be achieved over the course of a few weekends worth of work. I put one coat of wax and I'm sure a few passes of a clay bar would yield original VWpaint that looks new. This car has an accurate 105k miles and was purchased from the son of the original owner's father who used to car in the Fresno and the San Joaquin Valley in California. This area of the state is very dry, ence the rust free state of this car. The plates are ORIGINAL TO THE VEHICLE black plates stamped from 1963 and are legal to run as they are!
The interior is original and needs readily available seat covers, nd maybe a headliner to look new. The engine could probably be tuned up and run for another 100k miles but like any old VW, eaks a few drops. The transmission shifts smooth and makes no noises. It has a 4.37 ring and pinion so if you want to go freeway speeds, ave someone drop in a 4.12.
I am selling this vehicle to pay to cover living expenses while finishing school. I was going to fix it up and drive it but now you have an opportunity to own a pre 65 small window beetle that could be a daily driver with minimal work.
NOTE: DO NOT waste my time by placing a bid if you do not plan on following through with the purchase. To many flakes don't be one.
