Description for Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 1968

I am the 3rd owner. Original purchase 08/05/1968 thru 12/06/1968, miles thru 7442 miles the car was in Kansas City Missouri. 03/03/1969 thru 04/29/1970, 960 miles thru 23,593 miles the car was in Merriam Kansas.
11/14/1970 thru 04/23/1971, 7,400 miles thru 30,552 miles the car was in San Antonio Texas per the Maintenance schedule. When I purchased the car a Florida title dated 01/19/78 was transferred in to my name. The car was located in Deland Fl. I met with the owners mechanic to purchase the car. I told him I was going to restore the car and put a grate motor in it. He told me they would not sell it to me because it was original. I had to promise them that I would only replace parts as needed and rebuild the original motor when needed. I have replaced the top and liner, attery, ad the generator rebuilt, eplaced brakes, ome brake lines. tires, ome tie rods and ball joints, ome seals at the doors and windows, aised the rear of the car with torsion adjustments, pring plate bushings, ew shocks and struts. when the seal was replaced at the windshield the tech could not get the chrome trim on so he replaced it without it. I had the original luggage rack powder coated black. The gas tank was replaced before my purchase. I would prefer an on site purchase so you can see, ouch/feel and drive the car that is your choice.
