Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1987
My mom has a 1987 Volkswagon Vanagon camper for sale. The odometer stopped working at 147,000 and it's probably got another 10-20 thousandbeyond that. It has an automatic transmission, AC, and starts right up every time. This was my dad's "run around town" vehicle and he maintained it himself. He has recently passed away so the information I have on the vehicle details is pretty limited. We did install a new canvas top and rubber seal 2 years ago. It has a brand new battery, and the tires have 90% of their tread.
I tried to capture everything in the attached pictures, but feel free to contact me for more information. We are located in south Florida and are listing it "auction style". It has not been listed for sale previously. It has all the cushions, etc. that came with it and I assume all of the appliances work. I know at one time he had trouble getting the pilot light lit for the fridge and he drilled a small hole in it to try and remedy the problem. The hole's still there and I don't know if the problem still exists or not. The muffler must have a hole in it, as it is a little loud. The interior is in fair shape and could use a good cleaning. The door panels are a little warped and the drivers side window doesn't work (it has power windows). It had a new paint job a few years ago and had no rust or dents. The old paint was just really faded bad. The inside of the fiberglass top has stains that won't seem to come off (at least with x-14 anyway). You can see this in a picture. The roof vent was replaced but the hardware was not so it is unable to open. It doesn't leak. The new canvas top has a small tear in it (3 inches, we did it while we were installing it), but it has a piece of tape and hasn't ripped any further. You can see this in a picture. There is no propane in the tank so I am unable to test things on gas.
It needs some TLC, but is all there. The few camping trips my mom and dad went on,everything seemed toworked perfectly.
Feel free to contact us with questions or to schedule a time to see it. Were in Pompano Beach, Florida
