Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1987

My wife and I have owned this van for 2 years. We bought it from a Vanagon mechanic in Boulder, CO. Looking at old receipts, thevan spent most of its life in New Mexico and then eventually in Colorado.Every 6 months, the van gets taken to my mechanic for an inspection. The van has 90k miles (78k when purchased), drives great, and there is no rust on the body of the van.
The wheels and tires were upgraded to the Rocky Mountain Westy wheel andNokian Rotiva All Terrain tires last summer. The tires only have 10k miles on them and get rotated every 2500 miles. Coils and shocks were replaced by Westy Werks in San Luis Obispo, CO last summer (less than 10k miles on them). The new wheels, tires, and suspension makes driving the van so much fun!
I added a solar system to the van which includes a 175 watt solar panel, two 6 volt golf cart batteries, a Renogy solar charger, a few DC outlets, a 1200 watt inverter, and a blue seas battery isolator that is used to charge batteries from the engine. The solar equipment is tucked away nicely underneath the rear bench seat. It is a great little setup and has plenty of juice to power a refrigerator (not included) and any cell phones or computers.
Struts were added to the pop top which makes lifting it much easier, especially with a fully loaded cargo box. I added Yakima cross bars so the cargo box can sit nicely up top. Cargo box is included which is great to store outdoor equipmentand stinky gear.
My mechanic replaced the brakes and rotors last summer. I also had CV joints replaced when I purchased the van.
The original refrigeratorand AC unit were removed to make way for additionalstorage. Both of these never really worked great anyways.
This is a 30+ year old van so there are cosmetic issues and other little things.
We have had some awesome adventures in this and it someone else's turn!
