Description for Volkswagen Other 1969
This VERY unique pickup (car if you prefer) is a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle that has been modified via a fiberglass conversion kit into a SHARP pickup. It catches everyone's attention. Most people have no idea of what it is and are rather amused when told it's almost a fifty-year Volkswagen. Back in the 1980's there were a number of "kit car" companies that made fiberglass bodies to convert Volkswagens (and a few other cars) into flat bedtrucks, delivery trucks, vans, race cars, imitations of expensiveEuropean sports cars, and of course dune buggies.Only a couple of thosecompanies exist today. Dune buggies are still very much in operationin one form or another.Pickups like this one up for sale are very rare, and even more rare in this outstanding condition. This truck lived most of its life in California and since coming to theEast Coast is kept in a garage. It is not brought out when it is rainy, cold, or snowy. Rust is not a problem asthe metal is solid and of course fiberglass will not rust. The floor is solid. The truck has recently been refurbished and is CRISP all around. The exterior shines. The wheels and tires are all in new condition. The interior has been painted as needed. The high back seats cleaned, wiper transmission rebuilt, and the carpet turn signal unit, battery, and the steering wheel replaced. The odometer reads 13,163. It does not have six numbers so the true mileage is unknown. A radio is installed but not connected. The heater and defroster hoses are not operational but like any of my old cars this one comes out of the garage only when it is sunny, dry, and warm. It is a unique, beautiful, and rare vehicle.
