Up for sale is a 1948 Ford F5. It is a 1.5 ton flatbed featuring a gear-driven scissor lift bed and a Marmon Herrington All-wheel drive system. Power is from the 239ci flathead V8 that is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, and modifications include a 12-volt electrical system with a mast switch located in the cab and an electric fuel pump. Previous ownership also installed a new exhaust crossover pipe gasket, fuel lines, sparkplugs, and a shift linkage adjustment.The matching 5-lug steel wheels are doubled up in the rear and shod inGoodyear G124 mud and snow radials. Harley Orange pinstripe lines the front grill and a double harley orange pinstripe line wraps the flatbed.
Per the previous owners, the truck was ordered new with a Marmon Herrington all-wheel-drive system which includes low-range gearing as well as a locking center differential.Steel interior surfaces are finished in white, including the dash and door panels. A master electrical switch has been mounted underneath the dashboard and the shifter linkages were recently rebuilt.Instrumentation includes an 80 mph speedometer with recommended gear range indicators. The odometer shows just over 28k miles, Fewer than 600 miles have been added to the truck over that last 7 years.The 239ci flathead V8 produces approximately 100 horsepower at 3,800 rpm when new. Power is routed to all four wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox, dual-range transfer case, and locking center differential. Current owner has not used the scissor lift bed, but can put you in contact with the former owner who has.
The truck has been well kept in an airplane hangar in central Florida. The truck would be perfectly suited to display in front of a business or use locally, and in parades. I could see a Ford, Harley, distillery, winery, or any local company making great use of this in front of their business.
