Description for International Harvester Scout 1974
A refurbishment was performed in 2015 as outlined below, and power is from a rebuilt 345ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and 2-speed transfer case. The truck is finished in white with black graphics and equipped with a burgundy interior, removable hardtop, roof rack, roll bar, Sony CD player, front locking hubs, and auxiliary instrumentation. Recent service consisted of a coolant flush, an oil change, and the installation of a new radiator along with belts and hoses.2015 work performed by Rainbow Auto Body of San Luis Obispo, California included a repaint in white, new black graphics, re-chroming of the bumpers and roof rack, refurbishment of the removable hardtop, and the installation of a new windshield and weatherstripping.
Chrome 15″ wheels wear Cooper Discoverer A/T3 tires, and locking hubs are equipped up front. A window tint has been applied, and the truck is also fitted with replacement dual external mirrors and a cowl-mounted antenna.
The interior was refreshed in 2015 with new burgundy seat covers and carpeting. Other equipment includes a burgundy dashboard and door panels, while modifications consist of a Sony CD player, steering column-mounted tachometer, and auxiliary gauges under the dash for voltage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The 5-digit odometer shows 9,500 miles, 5k of which were added by me. Total mileage is unknown.
The rear cargo area features replacement carpeting, black side panels, and a folding tailgate.
The 345ci V8 was rebuilt in 2014 and 2015 with a remanufactured block and cylinder heads, a replacement camshaft, and larger pistons. Ceramic-coated headers with dual exhaust outlets are also equipped.
The 3-speed automatic transmission was also overhauled in 2015 and is paired with a 2-speed transfer case.
Photos showing the truck in various stages of refurbishment can be provided upon request. The truck starts easily, runs strong, and cool.
