Description for MG MGB 1974
Fall is a wonderful time to own a British Sportscar!! I am offering up for sale an opportunity to own a very nice and well cared for early chrome bumper 1974 MG MGB Roadster Convertible to enjoy the fall leaves with!. It is a real head turner where ever it goes. The combination of the sports car red body and black top & interior really set it off. This is the last of the chrome bumper, lower stance MGB's produced from the factory. Later on in the 1974 model year the U.S. government made British Leyland add the ugly black rubber bumpers and increase the body height of the MGB. A lot of MGB purist feel this was the downfall for the MGB in sales and popularity. This MGB has been loving restored with a newer paint job in a beautiful gloss red. Interior has been restored as well and looks outstanding. Top was also replace at the time of the rest of the work and is of higher quality than usually found.
The engine has had an overhaul with many new parts to bring it back to fine running condition - see list below of new parts this car has. All the receipts I have with the car will be included. Motor is stock with the exception of a Weber 2bbl. carburetor system in place of the dual SU's. This makes for a much more reliable operation and better overall performance! This MG is a true dream to drive! The restoration was done back in 2015.

You get the picture - just about anything that was needed was done!
Body and frame appear to be rust free and solid. All glass is clear and undamaged. All gauges and exterior lights work. Tach, speedometer, oil pressure etc.. exterior head lights and marker lights, turn signals. The interior gauge lights do not but that only might be a dirty rheostat? Horn was working but not currently. Might just need center horn button contacts cleaned or replaced. I am very particular about my cars and I have noticed a few minor dings here and there on the body but none that would be easily noticed by the average passer by. You have to get very close to even see them. I'm just that particular and look close for any. I just wanted to pass that fact on. These could easily be massaged out reasonably if you wanted by any paint less dent repair technician. Most people will not notice that's for sure. Chrome bumpers are original but have lost some of their luster, see pics. There are replacements available if wanted but I like the fact they are original!
The trunk is missing the center lock assembly but it can be opened with a screwdriver. It currently has a plastic plug where the lock was that doesn't distract from its appearance. A replacement lock is easily available. Comes with an am-fm-cassette player. Original owners manual.
It always starts up very easily with just a slight amount of choke. Idles down well and runs cools. It has always been garaged when not driven. I have had other British sports cars in the past but this one is by far overall the nicest one! You would be hard pressed to find a nicer MGB in this kind of condition at my low reserve price! Its truly a blast to drive!! Like a go cart on rails.
Please look over my many pics and detailed description and let me know if you have any questions or need additional pics of anything. I will answer all and send what you need. I have the clear title in hand.
