Description for Oldsmobile Cutlass 1965
This 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 tribute is an awesome restomod that leaves you wanting for nothing. It has ultra-sleek paint, custom A/C interior, close-ratio four-speed, upgraded suspension, and a big V8 that's far meaner than a factory 442. So dig into all the details, because full custom builds like this are rarely up for grabs. This coupe comes with a ton of documentation proving the $$$$ thousands it takes to look this good. But you already knew it just by the first impression. The Sunburst Orange is a modern application within the last few years, and the moment the sunlight hits it, the vivid metallic finish erupts so that the color can live up to its name. The wraparound chrome bumpers shine beautifully as they cleanly integrate into the extra wide front and rear panels. The full-length trim shows off the tri-color 442 badging while also highlighting the straightness of the sheetmetal. And the pillarless Holiday Hardtop silhouette is what we all want on a true '60s muscle machine. So this coupe exceeds your expectations from every angle.
When you open the door, you're greeted by the low-back bucket seats of the custom two-tone tan supple leather interior. The rear seats, door panels, dash, custom center console, and even the trunk were all done to match. The total package was part of over $11k invested for a full professional interior done in 2018. Not only is this fresh and premium, but also absolutely comfortable. You have ice-cold air conditioning, cup holders, and nearly $2k spent on a custom AM/FM/CD stereo that includes Bluetooth, a USB input, and a full subwoofer speaker system. And as much as family and friends will want to go for a ride, the driver is always the priority in this coupe. You have a grippy sports steering wheel (power steering) done in the classic Olds four-spoke style. Beyond that is a full set of AutoMeter gauges. And the large tach goes particularly well with the Hurst shifter.
Olds fans thought that the 400 cubic-inch V8 was a terrific upgrade for the 442 in 1965, but the motor seen here can truly blow them all away. It's an exceptionally tidy 455ci V8, and it has been bored .60 over to 483 total. This was part of a full rebuild less than 11,000 miles ago, and they added all the right go-fast goodies, like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers feeding a H-pipe dual exhaust. This also has all the right supporting components, like a March serpentine belt system, MSD ignition, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fans. You get to take full control over this big V8 power thanks to the Muncie close-ratio M21 four-speed manual transmission with a new clutch, pressure plate, and hydraulic throwout bearing. This feeds a beefy Strange Engineering Ford 9-inch rear with limited-slip and 3.56 gears. The rebuilt front end, fortified rear suspension, and four-wheel power disc brakes are all part of a stout package that gives you confidence out on the road.
You already know the time and money it takes to get a total package that's this awesome. So you also know you're looking at a heck of a deal. It's time to grab this speedy Cutlass before someone else beats you to it. Call today!!!
