Description for Triumph TR 4 1964
Vehicle DetailsWhile I'm confident I will regret the sale of this car, it is time for someone else to take this running project to the next level. Sadly, the original owner passed away and the car was discovered at an estate sale in West Virginia. The majority of the work was performed by this gentlemen so please understand the history is limited. The following was completed when I purchased the car:
-Toyota 22R 2.4L inline 4-cylinder conversion (motor appears to have been removed from a 1981-1995 Toyota 4Runner)
-Toyota 5-speed transmission (assume removed from same Toyota 4Runner)
-Weber 40 DCOE 151 Side Draft carburetors with mesh air filter screens (sound is incredible)
-Cannon Side Draft intake manifold
-LC Engineering Pro Electronic Distributor w/out vacuum advance
-F.A.S.T. E6 Digital CD Ignition
-F.A.S.T. E92 E-Core Ignition Coil
-Edelbrock micro fuel pump
-New metal gas tank w/ new sending unit
-New Painless wiring harness
-New battery relocated to trunk w/ new power cables
-New aluminum radiator w/ new electronic fan
-New front brake calipers w/ pads
-New rear brake shoes
-All brake lines replaced
-New tires installed on original 15" steel wheels (set of five)
-New LC Engineering performance header
-New Hella 500 fog lights on custom bracket
-New Auto Meter gauges with GPS speedometer
-New carpet and various interior panels (seats appear original)
-Roll bar installed w/ third brake light
-New LED reverse light
The following parts have been installed during my ownership:
-New 16" Konig Rewind wheels and locking lug nuts (set of four)
-New 195/60R16 tires
-New push button start switch
-New wiper arms and blades (switch needs to be connected to motor)
-New turn signal switch w/ flasher
-New Pacesetter Monza exhaust
-New 7" conversion headlamps w/ LED bulbs (original halogen bulbs included)
-New adjustable fuel pressure regulator
-New dash-mounted horn button
-New radiator hoses, fittings, and clamps
-New NGK spark plugs
-New MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor spark plug wires
-New aluminum gas pedal assembly and throttle cable
The body and paint are all original including the 59-year old patina. There are signs of rocker panel repairs but it was done professionally. Aside from minimal surface rust, the body and frame is in exceptional condition and nothing has been concealed. There are two obvious areas were the original owner was starting some minor paint repairs. My plan was to simply spray these two spots and enjoy the car as-is. While the car starts without issue, the timing and carbs need to be professionally tuned. Once the car is seen in-person, you can appreciate all the hard work completed by the original owner/builder. Since the speedometer was replaced, I have no idea how many miles are on the actual car. There is no top but I do have the original soft top frame. Don't hesitate to contact me should you have any additional questions.
Thank you,
Jason
