Description for Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 1972
NO RESERVE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER!This 1972 Volkswagen Westfalia Bus is a one of a kind!! A True Survivor! The 1.7 motor was upgraded to an early 80's 2.0 Liter. It has been completely rebuilt with NEW Heads, istons, ings, earings, urned crank and machined block. All outer engine Components were replaced NEW and updated like Electronic Ignition, ual Carbs, lectronic Fuel Pump, tc. This 2.0 Liter has Hydraulic Lifters and that means NO Adjusting of the valves every time you change the oil like on a type 1 motoror older 1.8 and 1.7 Literpancake motors. The Sheet metal was ALL Powder Coated. An 091 Transmission out of an early 80's Vanagon was fullyrebuilt to a Highway Flyer style with a Higher 4th gear to achieve faster Highway speeds while keeping Engine at lower RPM's. New Clutch, ressure Plate, hrow Out Bearing, esurfaced Flywheel and Rebuilt Transmission have less than 4,000 miles on them. The Interior is ALL Original except Front Seats which were recovered with Genuine VolkswagenVinyl Seat Covers. The Bench seat that folds into a bed for 2 peoplehas beenvery comfortable for a great night's sleep. The Sink / Cooler Combo is missing. It does have the Upper Canvas Cot. The door panels have some wear at the usual bottom areas. There is an updated AM/FM CD Stereo and two door panel speakers. Just Installed a NEW Power Jack for Mobile phone chargers. Radio and Phone Jackwere wired to bePowered when bus is not running. The original table leg is missing, hough it has a temporary I've been using whole time I've owned it. The "COOL Factor" is, ost Interioris there and isGenuine Westfalia Camper Conversion. The Tent has a few small tears at the bottom right at back and a couple in front where it has gotten hung up in the Pop-Top folding Rod Braces. I pressure washed the Tent and had NO dripping leaks into the interior. I've camped in pouring down rain and had NO leaks. (I was pleasantly surprised!!). The Zippers on Screens right and left ofTentare stuck; (might be able to massage some lubricant and get them to work?) The Rear Tent Screen Zipper does work and ironically the screen is ripped, hough I unzip it anyway for air flow. The Exterior Paint was originally Brown and White. Someone or two? had some fun doing their thing painting Hippy theme.Needsthe wind shield replaced; (cracked). It is a 43 year old bus and it does have the normal rust underneath. The suspension was professionally customized to lower the bus. The shocks, ie rod ends and ball joints were new 4 years ago., less than 12,000 miles) Werecently completed a brake system inspection. All 4brake soft lines were replaced. The rear brake wheel cylinders and shoeswere replaced. The front Calipers and pads were in great shape (Pads 60%). Calipers and Drums were replaced before I bought it and can clearly seewerefreshless than 20K miles ago. Also we flushed the brake Lines and has ALL New Brake Fluid. (Less than 2 months ago).Bus has less than 12,000 miles on EVERYTHINGI have done to it.I drive it in the summer in The Great Northwest and start it a few times in the Winter. I have enjoyed it JUST like it is for4 years. If you don't like people waving at you and giving peace signs and big smiles then this is NOT the bus for you!! :-) I have spentover$13,000 building this bus. My family and I willREALLYmiss it!!!Thank you for looking :-)
