Description for Willys Americar All Original Steel 1941

As pictured here in my ad, I'm really not looking for someone to hit the "Buy it Now" button. I listed it at an arbitrary price and Iam interested in having a few conversations with those that might be interested in driving this one as is, or, maybe using it as a parts car to restore an old race car. The final price, of course, is open to discussion.(MAY CONSIDER 32 FORD TRADE, STEEL OR GLASS)Please do read the entire description below and give me a call if interested
If your reading this ad, and your restoring a chopped up old race car, you well know what a chore it would be to find a factory original, much less usable front end for a 41 Willys. This car offers you either a driving 41 limo type sedan or a donor car of which you could replace the original robbed parts with replica and still have a nice driver to use or sell for some return on your investment. Let me explain what I have here.
I've owned this car going on 2 years now. It fit the bill when I purchased it as I have a soft spot for Willys here. I've had it to many shows and it sparks a lot of looks and conversations when they see all the original large & small parts still in place on the car. especially now that it's a hot rod.As you can see in one photo, I have two other finished ones and a glass truck body in the background ready to build a street gasser out of. Needless to say. A few things must go, and this 41 may, or may not, be one of those items, if I strike a deal.
The hot rod build is approx. 20 years old. It was built by a fellow that hauled his family around to many, many shows. A couple photos show it down at the Daytona Turkey Run and in 2010 it was a feature car in a magazine. I believe he said he drove down almost every year. As you may have guessed, here we are, 20 years later. The kids are grown and he built a two passenger coupe. The kids even drove in from out of town to take a final ride in the Willys before I picked it up.
OK, the photos tell most of the story, but I'll list some details. Keep in mind that as you look at the dash, you'll see it has a minimum amount of modification. Also, check out the unmolested firewall in the engine photos and the nearly complete cowl vent lid, hole. The lid is not bondoed in, but rather set in place with window urethane. There are a few actuator parts missing that could be fabricated if one were to restore it to an operating vent system. Even those expensive steel replica hoods don't include a vent, firewall and the original ratcheting hood prop that's seen in the photo. Again, the cars not perfect, but, damn near. Other features include the following -
*Original frame with Mustang II front suspension*Rear i'm not sure of, but I think it is a GM 10 bolt*350 Chevy Crate engine which was installed sometime years after the original build (after it blew on the way back from Daytona one year)*TH 350 trans, off which all the above works well*AC/Heat, needs a refrigerant charge I think, but all intact and was operating*REAL Halibrand wheels with simulated knockoffs*As you can see, tilt wheel, column shift and check out those bona fide front door pulls!!*All trim, including grill, headlight doors and nose emblem which says AMERICAR, vertically, appear to be original*The only change to the body seems to be the rear fenders are now molded in instead of bolted on with welting, and of course, the frenched license & rear lamps*If I remember right, I have a spare set of rear fenders, doors, ctr. door pillars & trunk lid that can go with the sale. The original builder had those "just incase"
Buyer will be responsible for shipping/pickup and I would ask that I be paid for it, just as I paid for it, by cashPlease do contact me with any questions or to make arrangement to view the car
